The Congress Centrum Alpbach (CCA) is a modern and contemporary congress centre situated in Tyrol, western Austria. Alpbach is a small village in the rural surrounding of the Alps away from the distractions of a city.
The CCA has more than 70 years in hosting congress, meetings and exhibitions. and is the location for the “European Forum Alpbach”, an annual symposium with more than 5.500 participants.
The CCA provides 2.800 sqm of flexible event space with two main plenary halls with one hall for up to 850 participants in theatre style (level 1 west) and one for up to 500 (level 2). Another eight meeting rooms are available with 3 in level 1 west and 5 in level 1 east.
The venue is reached from international airport of Munich (90 minutes), and Innsbruck national airport (45 minutes) with train stations Wörgl (30 minutes) and Brixlegg (15 Minutes), giving a wide range of accessibility possibilities.
The CCA is a venue without accommodation and leisure facilities however, for conference organisers, the venue is able to provide support and supply a list of appropriate and preferred accommodation options.
Whilst the venue does not have a restaurant it does have an inhouse caterer to support meeting function requirements. The venue also provides an audio-visual supplier that can assist with technical arrangements.
SALES AND MARKETING
There is no doubt that the CCAs location in the Alps may present a challenge for organisers of HCP meetings however, the venue is positioned as business venue for meetings, conferences, exhibitions and events from 50 to 850 and out of ‘season’ may be considered acceptable.
The venue has experience in hosting both corporate and non-commercial organisations of healthcare meetings including those involving HCPs.
The venue draws on its mountain location to present a venue for congresses and meetings organized in a “green way”, so there are numerous references to areas where the venue can support sustainable conferencing.
When ‘Googled’ external websites focus on the venues conference facilities and ‘green credentials’ and use images of snow-covered scenery. This may challenge bookers to consider the venue and location as one not for business however, the amount of large meeting space and experience of hosting large business conferences demonstrate the ability to support all types of business meetings including those from the healthcare sector.
LOCATION AND SETTING
The CCA is located in Alpbach, a small village, in the middle of the Tyrolean Alps and 45 kms South East of Innsbruck. Surrounded by nature, the CCA has a dominant position overlooking the valley.
Alpbach is a 90-minute drive from Munich international Airport and 45 minutes from Innsbruck national Airport. The train station of Wörgl is 30 minutes by car and Brixlegg is 15 minutes. Public transport in the area is free of charge for guests with overnight stays, and the bus station that connects to train station is just 100 metres away from the CCA.
For those driving the venue provides a chargeable parking garage with 113 spaces is available in the CCA. Whilst not owned by the venue, transfers and taxis can be arranged with local partners. In the village, restaurants can be rented for private groups dinners and the venue is able to advise which might be suitable for HCPs dinners.
FIT FOR PURPOSE
Alpbach with its CCA and all partners are experienced with business meeting for more than 70 years. The well-known “European Forum Alpbach”, an annual symposium since the year 1945 hosts now more than 5.500 participants in two weeks, every year in August.
The congress centre of Alpach can support individual meetings, conferences and congresses. There are no leisure facilities or entertainment activities in the CCA to distract delegates and therefore, can be considered an appropriate venue for all kind of meetings from the healthcare sector.
Meetings: The CCA offers 2.800 sqm of space on two floors in the same building.
There is one hall for up to 850 participants in theatre style (level 1 west) and one for up to 500 (level 2).
Another eight meeting rooms (3 in level 1 west and 5 in level 1 east) offer space for 20 up to 200 participants in theatre style.
All rooms are flexible in that they can accommodate all room layouts and can also be used as exhibition and function spaces such as for coffee breaks, sitting and standing lunch and dinner areas.
The CCA has three bright foyers (1 in each level) for breaks and exhibitions. The biggest space for exhibitions combined is 1.200 sqm (level 1 west). Each level has a separate entrance, level 1 west and level 2 can be privatised. Organizer office, registration area and cloak rooms are available.
All rooms offer natural daylight and are equipped with high level technic standards for projection, sound, simultaneous translation and electronic signage. The rental includes first setup of each room (chairs, tables, stage), special furniture (e.g. round tables or high tables) must be rented separately.
Catering: The CCA does not have restaurants but have an in-house catering company in that can support organisers needs for breaks, lunch and dinner. This caterer can provide menus that align with the national meal cap limits.
Bedrooms: The CCA does not have any bedrooms however, they can assist with supporting enquiries that do require accommodation or transport.
Leisure: There are no leisure or sporting facilities such as a gym or spa on site. Nothing to distract a delegate attending a meeting here.
CCA offers free Wi-Fi for all clients and attendees
The CCA can provide a certificate for your event as a “green meeting” should all arrangements follow the criteria for sustainable conferencing however, this is not compliance related but demonstrates the commitment to environmentally friendly meetings.
